About Elisha House

Elisha House Pregnancy & Family Support Centre was birthed from the Niagara Life Centre.

In 1988, we were the Niagara Life Welland Centre located in an office provided by Christ Community Church on Division Street. We began with a Mother's Friendship Program and home visitation to women from the Welland community.

  • 1993 - there was a vision to move into the community
  • 1994 - the 48 Burgar St house was purchased by a local Christian businessman to be used by the Centre for ministry
  • 2001 - we became autonomous with our own charitable status
  • 2002 - we became Elisha House Pregnancy & Family Support Centre
  • 2003 - 54 Burgar Street was purchased and renovated into the Resource Centre and the "Learn & Earn" parenting classes began
  • 2011 - we no longer offer "Learn & Earn" classes as the community is now doing an excellent job providing parenting classes
  • 2012 - our focus is on the Pregnancy Options and Biblical Counselling pieces of the ministry that have grown rapidly

Our Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and not as a result of good works.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
