Welcome to the profile page of the Elisha House staff. All of our staff members are highly trained individuals with hearts full of compassion for people and our ministry. At Elisha House we are committed to serving our clients with excellence. If you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and would like to explore your options and receive support, come in and see one of our pregnancy support workers. Or if you are facing some of the difficult struggles in life whether it be personal, marital, or family related, make an appointment to see one of our Biblical counsellors to explore God’s desire and ability to help and heal.   • Brent Thomas - Executive Director

    Brent serves as the executive director of the Elisha House Pregnancy and Family Support Centre. Brent has a Bachelor of Theology (B.T.s) and a Master of Arts (MA) from Maranatha Baptist Seminary. Following a career with Loblaws Companies Limited, Brent entered into fulltime ministry as a pastor.   • Nikki Bakker - Pregnancy Coordinator

    Nikki has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science from Brock University and is a certified Birth Doula. Nikki completed her Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission in Tyler, TX in 2011. Nikki coordinates the Pregnancy Options Ministry and walks alongside women facing an unexpected pregnancy.   • Gail DeGiovanni, Biblical Counsellor/Healing & Group Coordinator

    Gail graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minors in English and Elementary Education. She taught elementary school for thirteen years before she moved with her family to Ontario when her husband took a call to pastor here.   • Glen Slingerland, Biblical Counselling Coordinator

    Glen has a Bachelor of Education from Brock University and a Master of Arts in Biblical Counselling from Westminster Theological Seminary. While in Philadelphia, he completed a two-year internship with Harvest USA. Glen works full time at Elisha House counselling individuals, couples and families, as well supervising the biblical counselling team and coordinating this aspect of the ministry.   • Rhonda Wiersma, Biblical Counsellor

    Rhonda graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary (Glenside, Pennsylvania) with a Master of Arts in Biblical Counselling and holds a degree in child and youth care from Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed the counselling internship at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation.   • Allison Marr - Biblical Counsellor

    Allison has completed her 3 levels of counselling certificates through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. She is a youth leader and life group leader in her church, and has also taught youth Sunday School. She and her husband are a deacon couple there as well.   • Lynn Murray, Biblical Counsellor

    Lynn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from McMaster University, along with a diploma in addictions counselling. She has also completed a number of counselling courses through CCEF’s distance education program. Lynn worked for 4 years at Hannah House in Niagara Falls as a client support worker.
