Godly relationships are built on mutual caring, mutual honesty,
mutual respect, mutual responsibility and mutual repentance. In contrast,
emotional abuse has devastating effects on relationships as well as on
families. Using Leslie Vernick’s The
Emotionally Destructive Relationship, you will learn how to:
· recognize behaviours that are meant to control, punish, and hurt
· confront and speak truth when the timing is right
· determine when to keep trying and when to shift your approach
· get safe and stay safe
· continue to be transformed by God as you build an identity in Christ.
If you are looking for change, this course will give you straightforward, biblical help for this journey.
Registration Requirements: Complete and return the Pre-Group Questionnaire (available on our web site). A $50 deposit (towards your group fees) confirms your registration and secures your spot.
Participants new to Elisha House are also required to complete a Pre-Group meeting to be arranged by the Facilitator.
Homework: There will be an average of 3 hours of homework per week.
Other Considerations: We strongly advise that you miss not more than 2 sessions of this course. Missing more will both inhibit your own personal growth as well as adversely affect the group dynamic. Registration for the group will be closed after the second session.
