Welcome to the profile page of the Elisha House staff. All of our staff members are highly trained individuals with hearts full of compassion for people and our ministry. At Elisha House we are committed to serving our clients with excellence. If you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and would like to explore your options and receive support, come in and see one of our pregnancy support workers. Or if you are facing some of the difficult struggles in life whether it be personal, marital, or family related, make an appointment to see one of our Biblical counsellors to explore God’s desire and ability to help and heal.   • Glen Slingerland, Director of Biblical Counselling

    Glen is currently the Acting Executive Director of Elisha House. He has a Master of Arts in Biblical Counselling from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University. While in Philadelphia, he completed a two-year internship with Harvest USA.   • Gail DeGiovanni, Biblical Healing Group Coordinator

    Gail graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minors in English and Elementary Education. She taught elementary school for thirteen years before she moved with her family to Ontario when her husband took a call to pastor here.   • Rhonda Wiersma, Biblical Counsellor

    Rhonda graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary (Glenside, Pennsylvania) with a Master of Arts in Biblical Counselling and holds a degree in child and youth care from Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed the counselling internship at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation.     Scott received his BA in Liberal Arts at Trinity University, and his MA in Biblical Counseling from Master’s College.   • Lynn Murray, Biblical Counsellor

    Lynn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from McMaster University, along with a diploma in addictions counselling. She has also completed a number of counselling courses through CCEF’s distance education program. Lynn worked for 4 years at Hannah House in Niagara Falls as a client support worker, and for a number of years at the Ellen Osler Home in Hamilton, which is a half-way house for women coming out of federal prison.&...

  • Melanie Overbeeke, Director of Pregnancy Options

    Melanie joined the Elisha House team in March of 2018 as the Assistant to the Executive Director, and was at the reception desk for the Pregnancy Options team. In 2020, she took on the responsibilities of Director of Pregnancy Options. Melanie has a diploma in Office Administration from Niagara College. She has a heart for the ministry and is an asset to our team!

    Anita Thompson works part time at Elisha House where she facilitates a number of pregnancy support classes that aim to support clients throughout their pregnancy, assists clients in parenting, and guides the development of healthy boundaries and relationships.     Donna West is new to the Niagara Region and recently came on board at Elisha House as a Pregnancy Options Support Worker. She and her family re-located here from her tiny home town in North East Saskatchewan. Donna’s passion for helping young women facing unexpected pregnancy stems from the hope she encountered as a teen mom.
